Sweet Design Studio for Anthea Hamilton

Sweet Design Studio has designed a one-off card for the up and coming exhibition of Anthea Hamilton entitled 'Sorry I'm Late'. Hamilton's work engages on surreal and seductive instalations of  physical skills and representaions of the human body, particularly the female body. The greeting card titled 'Gold' depicts Hamilton's signature cut out of her own legs. One of her recent work is the poster entitled 'Divers' for the London 2012 Oylmpic Games.
The exhibition takes place at the Firstsite gallery in Colchester from the 8th september - 25 november 2012.

ideas

Here is one of many great ways to display a Sweet Design Studio Card. Take inspiration from afroblush who has beautifully displayed a 'Let-loose girl' on a black frame. The white space draws your eyes directly onto the image.

Fashion and Textile Museum

The latest exhibition at the Fashion and Textile Museum is 'Designing Women - post war british textiles'. This exhibition takes a look at the radical change in textile design after World War II. Textile artists pioneering the show are Lucienne Day, Jacqueline Groag, Mariam Mahler and many more.

Overall, a really nice show. The layout was spacious so the work was not over crowded and you did not feel you had to take everything all at once. It was nice that you had the chance to touch some of the fabrics, the works in my eye is still very contemporary and inspirational. It was a bit of a shame that there was more clothing pieces with the use of fabrics, but it is a textile exhibition.
